About Institute

K.D.K. College of Engineering was established in 1984 by Backward Class Youth Relief Committee with an aim to impart technical education to students of Backward Class/Region. The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, D.T.E ,Mumbai and affiliated to RTMNU, Nagpur. The College is awarded “ A “ Grade by Maharashtra Govt., Accredited by NAAC, Institution of Engineers(IEI),Kolkata. The institute is also accredited twice by NBA in Mechanical, Civil & Electrical Engineering ,in past. The College is well within the heart of city spread over 17 acres of land with Wifi enabled campus, state of the art infrastructure and laboratories, well furnished class rooms, drawing hall, tutorial room, air conditioned seminar halls, model class rooms with modern audio video teaching aids. Centralized library with multimedia section and spacious reading room, amenities like sports, Gymnasium, Canteen, Power backup, Banking and Cooperative store, Hostel facility, etc.

ABOUT DEPARTMENT

The department is over 34 years old, accredited twice in past by NBA. The department has an UG Program of 180 intake, PG Program in Mechanical Engineering Design with an intake of 18 and a Ph.D recognized centre of RTMNU with more than 15 scholars enrolled and equal number of Ph.D awarded. The department has well qualified and experienced faculties with flair of teaching and research aptitude. Apart from regular curriculum teaching department focuses on the exposure of students to industrial environment through industrial visits, workshop, Guest lectures by experts in the field of academics and industry. Students are encouraged to participate in Entrepreneurship Awareness programs, various co & extra curriculum activities, Autoclub, Roboclub, Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) etc. Department has well equipped laboratories with latest equipment and software’s. Department has many research /product based consultancy project, received grants to a tune of about 2.00 lacs from various government ministries and agencies like Ministry of MSME New Delhi, Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneurship New Delhi, Development of Science and Technology (DST) New Delhi, National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) New Delhi, Entrepreneurship Development Institute Ahmadabad, AICTE New Delhi, Entrepreneurship Development cell & Incubation centre.
Research and Development (R&D) cell of the department is very vibrant. ED cell is established since year 2002 and have training to more than 2500 students and 150 teachers in the area of entrepreneurship.
The R&D department is having MOU’s with 12 industries and training institutes for mutual support. R&D department giving consultancy service to government and industries. The industrial problem and machines are developed through student projects. Incubation centre is funded by ‘Ministry of MSME’ will grant 66.5 lacs.
